ZTE unveiled the premium variant of its Axon 7 smartphone

ZTE unveiled the premium variant of its Axon 7 smartphone in the US. The 6GB of RAM/128GB onboard storage Axon 7 variant features a Force Touch display unlike the standard model, and the device is available via the company’s US online store and comes with a price tag of $499.98 (around Rs. 34,100). The standard version was launched in the US with a price tag of $399.98 (around Rs. 27,300).

The ZTE Axon 7 was unveiled in China in May in three variants- Basic, standard, and Premium. Main highlights of the device were its dual front cameras and speaker, HiFi audio, Dolby Atmos, and Force Touch display which is only available on the Premium model.

The Premium model of the ZTE Axon offers 6GB of RAM, 128 onboard storage, and a Force Touch display apart from these all other specifications are the same as the standard model.

The ZTE Axon 7 features a metal unibody and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with MiFavor UI 4.0 on top. The smartphone supports hybrid dual-SIM and comes with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED Force Touch (25560×1440 pixels) display along with 2.5D curved glass protection. The device is powered by the 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) quad-core SoC Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It also features dedicated AKM4961 and AKM4490 audio chips along with 32-bit DAC to power the HiFi audio support.

Coming to the optics of the ZTE Axon 7 bears a 20-megapixe primary camera along with dual-LED flash, OIS+EIS+PDAF, and f/1.8 aperture. It shoots 4K video at 30fps, and slow motion is captured at 720p at 240fps/480p at 300fps. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera along with f/2.2 aperture. It has an internal storage capacity of 128GB which can be further expanded to 128GB via microSD card.

The device is powered by 3250mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 support. For connectivity it has 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n. The fingerprint sensor is housed at the back of the smartphone.
