Motorola X Play Review: X Play comes under Price 20K

Motorola X Play Review: Motorola’s Smartphone comes under 20K, equipped with snapdragon 615 processor. Is it Worth it?

Motorola Inc, an American Manufacturer of electronic products. It was founded in the year 1928 in Chicago by Paul and Joseph as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. In the year 1930 company began to sell a low-cost automobile radio called Motorola that became the most popular brand. Motorola is in its third generation of Moto devices and it has already launched an entry level Moto-E and a mid-range Moto-G earlier this year. But unlike previous generations, this time, Motorola has two versions of Moto X – the Moto x Play and the Moto X Style. Motorola impressed everyone when it announced the Motorola x play at an INR 20,000 price point on its launch day in India.

This phone was launched in July 2015. It was introduced with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display and a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. It has 1.7GHz OCTA-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and it comes with 2GB RAM. This phone packs 16GB internal storage that can be expandable up to 128GB via a micro SD card. It has a 21-megapixel primary camera on the rear side and 5-megapixel front shoots.

It runs Android 5.1.1 and is powered by a 3630mAh nonremovable battery. It measures 148.00 H x 75.00 W x 10.90 T and weighs 169.00 grams. It is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smart phone that accepts two Nano SIMs. Its connectivity option includes Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, 3G, 4G with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India. Its Sensors include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer.

Display structure generates decent showing angles and a wide arrayed color spectrum. Its display unit gathers extra protection by Corning Gorilla Glass v3. To rev up its performance, CPU is coupled with a 2GB RAM and ADRENO 405 with a 550 MHz GPU which ensures multi tasking and allows phone users  to run high graphic games, surfing with shorter loading time and enjoy a premium multimedia experience. For a highly impressive performance its flagship smart phone sails on the latest Android v5.1.1 Lollipop OS. It has a powerful 3630mAh Li-polymer, a non-removable battery which keeps the show running with mixed usage up to 30 hours. This smart phone features a highly diversified connectivity range which includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a, g, b, n with the dual band capable, 3G, NFC, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB connectivity.

Its camera and storage features include a supremely engineered camera framework, that sports a 21MP autofocus rear camera with f /2.0 aperture-coupled with color correlated temperature dual LED flash and a powerful digital zoom (4x) that tends to renders quick premium shots in low light situations also. Its features like slow motion video, Burst mode, Auto High Dynamic Range mode, drag to focus & exposure, etc has also included enriching the picture quality.

Its rear camera is powerful enough to facilitate FHD video recording at 30fps. This smart phone also ropes in a 5MP front snapper. Motorola Moto X Play provides a 16GB internal memory and a 128GB external memory card slots for further memory expansion. Watching videos with the onboard speaker is a good experience as the front-firing speaker is loud. There is only one speaker near mouth piece on this phone, so whosoever is expecting stereo speakers, will be disappointed. In terms of music, it is most responsive to mid-range frequencies.

It is beautiful to look at, although we will notice design changes as compared to Moto X second generation phones. The camera section is placed on a rectangular strip of plastic with a minimal dimple opposed to prominent Motorola dimple on the second generation Moto X. Also top portion of this phone has dual Nano SIM cards and micro SD card slot as well. It is easy to hold due to the thin bezel on sides and slight curvature on the rear side, but one handed use is not comfortable due to the 5.5-inch display.

Its rear textured cover feels nice in the hand and gives a good grip. But you’ll notice that rear cover has a habit of attracting cloth fibers when you’ll place it in your jeans pocket. These fine fibers which are stuck on the cover can at times be tricky to remove.
