Huawei GR3 Review – Attractive Look And A Crafty Design

Huawei GR3 Display

Huawei GR3 Display

Design and Look: This trendy smartphone features a 5 inches FULL HD display which gives you an excellent feel every time you touch your screen. It has an unmatched design among the smartphones at its price, with subtle curves that give it a stunning appearance. The screen appears to be enormous, and the back has got an elegant finish which is resistant to fingerprints and smudges.

Its sleek look has garnered attention among many smartphone buyers. The Huawei GR3 has wrapped off the market with its amazing features and great style and continues to swap away its competitors by providing all the attributes which might cost way more. But the phone also has some backdrop. It does not feature a fingerprint sensor which has become a trend among the latest Android phones coming in the market.

Touch and Display: Huawei GR3 features a 5inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display of this phone is sharper and brighter with a support of 16.7M colors and a pixel density of almost 300ppi. The 5inches screen size gives this phone a screen to body ratio of 67.6 percent. The display is gorgeous and vibrant although it gives a little sense of a bit higher saturation and added warmth.

The viewing angles of this smartphone are also great and offer you an exclusive experience while watching movies or playing any online games. Apart from the superb display if you think that the phone has a protection of a Corning Gorilla Glass, then you are wrong. This phone doesn’t possess any screen protection.

Software and Hardware: The Huawei GR3 runs on Android v5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite working on its top. This is where Huawei GR3 disappoints us as the phone does not run on the latest Android Marshmallow and give us a pure Android experience. Nonetheless, Huawei GR3 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek, MT6753T whose four cores are clocked at 1.5GHz and the other four are also clocked at 1.5GHz.

The graphics are loaded with Mali-T720 GPU. Now, moving on to its hardware part, Huawei has given this phone a RAM size of 2GB and doesn’t have any variation in its inbuilt storage. The inbuilt storage of this smartphone is 16GB and supports an expandable storage of up to 128GB using a microSD card. The phone also supports some latest sensors like Proximity, accelerometer, compass, ambient light and G-sensor but the phone lacks an NFC. So you may face some problem while playing core online games but for the regular ones, its GPU is sufficient.

Camera: The company has set the rear camera at 13-megapixel, but it has provided a better aperture and pixel size and some additional modes to give you a better camera experience. The rear camera has an aperture size of f/2.0 and supports dual LED flash and autofocus. The rear camera captures beautiful pictures which are bright and sharp.

The shots captured in daylight have an exquisite detailing and sharpness. But the camera struggles a bit with the sharpness when under artificial light but it is avoidable. The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixel and an aperture size of f/2.4. The 1080p video quality it provides is also fine, but Huawei could have provided better in this regard.

Battery Life: This phone comes with a non-removable Li-ion 2200mAh battery. The battery lasts for a day with a bit to spare even with an everyday use of a fair amount of voice calls and a good amount of gaming. It provides a 12 hours talk-time in 3G networks and supports all other required daily workload over the phone such as net browsing, texting, game playing, listening music, etc. But the phone does not support Wireless charging and Quick charging facility. Huawei GR3 leaves a decent impression in this regard.

Variants: The 143 x 72 x 7mm body size of this elegant Huawei GR3 smartphone is all decorated with Golden color. As for now no other color is available in the Indian market.

Suggestions: Huawei GR3 phone works on Android’s v5.1 (Lollipop) version, and the chipset is powered by the undisputable MediaTek MT6753T. The CPU is of Octa-core processors clocked at a speed of 1.5 GHz, and there is a dedicated slot for micro-SD, up to 128GB. Concerning build and design this phone earns a decent rating, even in the terms of durability, this phone stands out among the rest. This phone has some key features wherein the first and the foremost impressive feature is its latest Android version which is layered with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite working on its top.

It has a good camera feature, a good battery life, a stylish metallic body with 5 inches display. But this phone also comes with some disadvantages like- no dual band Wi-Fi or no quick charging or wireless, no fingerprint sensor and no NFC. And most importantly at this price, Huawei GR3 doesn’t support 4K video recording. Hence, the specifications that the company provides at this affordable price can be considered as nice but also the fact that it lags many features cannot be ignored.
