Gionee unveiled M2017 premium smartphone in China, and the device wears a heavy price tag of CNY 6,999 (around Rs. 68,400). Currently, there are no words on the device’s global release. Another variant with an Italian custom alligator leather back panel is priced at CNY 16,999 (around Rs. 1, 66, 000). The device is available for pre-orders in China. However, the company’s website is showing the phone as “Fully Booked.”

While the new Gionee M2017 comes with many interesting features, the most interesting feature is its battery capacity. The device comes with two 3500mAh batteries inside, totalling the battery capacity to a massive 7000mAh which is further supported by Quick Charge 3.0. The company claims that the device provides video playback time of up to 25.89 hours and a standby time of 915.42 hours.

Coming to the specification of Gionee M2017, the device comes with a 5.7 QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display along with curved edges and sapphire glass. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC with four Cortex-A72 core clocked at 1.9GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44GHz paired with 6GB of RAM. The device runs on Amigo 3.5 UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

As for the optics of Gionee M2017, it features a dual-camera setup with 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensor housed at the back along with support for 2X optical zoom and 8X digital zoom. It also houses an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video chats. The smartphone offer internal storage capacity of 128GB, but sadly there is no storage expandability option available.

The dimensions of Gionee M2017 is measured at 155.2×77.6×10.78mm, and it weighs at 238 grams. The smartphone houses a fingerprint scanner and also feature textured back for a premium feel. In terms of connectivity, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi. Notably, the device doesn’t include 3.5mm headphone jack but only comes with a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available in Black and Gold colour variants.
