Gionee M2017 will be launched on December 26 in China

Last week, Gionee teased the release of its 7000mAh battery smartphone, suggesting that launch is close. Now the Chinese company on Weibo has verified that the Gionee M2017 will be launched on December 26 in China.

The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its huge battery capacity of 7000mAh. The launch will be held at HaikouĀ  Mission Hills in Hainan, China, where the company will announce Gionee M2017 price and availability. Going by the leaks, the phone is expected to feature a metal edge on its four sides along with volume and powered button placed on the right edge of the smartphone. The back panel of the device will come with a rubber-like textured finish.

Gionee M2017 is said to sports 5.7-inch (1440×2560 pixels) QHD display, and it is tipped to be powered by a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It is expected to offer a massive internal storage capacity of 128GB. The smartphone is further expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and support dual-SIM.

In terms of the optics, Gionee M2017 will come with a dual-camera setup. It is expected to bear a 12-megapixel primary sensor accompanied by a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with LED flash. Whereas at the front the device houses an 8-megapixel snapper.

As per the leaks, Gionee M2017 houses a fingerprint sensor underneath the Home Button, and as mentioned above is powered by a massive 7000mAh battery that comes with fast charging support. For connectivity, the smartphone has 4G LTE Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS, and Bluetooth v4.20 The dimensions of the smartphone are measured at 155.2×77.6×10.6mm, and it weighs 230 grams. As of now, we have no words on whether the company plans to launch Gionee M2017 in other markets as well.
