Xiaomi announced Android Nougat updates for its smartphones

Xiaomi announced Android Nougat updates for its smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 4c, Xiaomi Mi 4S, and Xiaomi Mi Note are among those smartphone which will receive the update trailing behind is Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi 5c Plus, and Xiaomi Mi Max. The company verified the update via a post on Weibo.

Xiaomi says the beta testing for the Nougat update is already in progress. The MIUI operations manager was the one who posted the news on the website and there the post didn’t mention any specific date when the company will officially roll out the update.

The Android-based update will be dubbed as MIUI 9, which was spotted on the on the internet a while ago. As of now, only Xiaomi M 5 is the only Xiaomi smartphone which received the Nougat update, and the remaining devices can be expected to see an update soon.

Notably, Xiaomi’s official did not mention whether the Redmi series will be seeing the Nougat update. As of now, we can expect that the company will roll out Nougat update for the above-mentioned product sometime during Q1 of 2017.

Additionally, Xiaomi is expected to launch Mi Pad 3 tablet this month. The device is expected to feature a 9.7-inch display along with 2048×1536 pixel resolutions. It is expected to be powered by a 2.6GHz dual-core Intel M-7Y30 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The device may come with Windows and  Android models, and it is expected to come in two storage variants. It is rumoured to come with an all-metal body and powered by a massive 8290mAh battery along with fast charging support. Further, the tablet is tipped to feature a 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixl front snapper for selfies and video. As of now, there is no pricing detail available.
