In a blog post, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Windows and device group Yusuf Mehdi said, “We’re seeing people at home, at schools, at small businesses, at large companies, and other organizations adopt Windows 10 faster than ever and use Windows 10 more than ever before.”

Other than mentioning about the particular achievement, Mehdi also listed some of the company’s accomplishments and stated some major facts about Windows 10.

In March, 63 billion minutes were spent on the Microsoft Edge along with a major increment of 50 per cent in minutes as compared with last quarter. Edge Browser was launched along with Microsoft Windows 10.

Secondly the personal assistant, Cortana has answered amazingly 6 billion questions so far.

And last but not the least, it is believed that the Windows 10 is not good for the game lovers and has disappointed so far. But, Mehdi said that if you see the numbers, it tells you another story. He stated, “People are playing games on Windows 10 more than ever before, with over 9 billion hours of gameplay on Windows 10 since launch.”

Microsoft now aims to increase the market share in the mobile sector as well as in the emerging technologies for computing. As of now the software lags behind the Google, Android OS and Apple iOS. The dominance of Microsoft Windows software is in the computer software market rather than in the smartphone market. And by 2018, the company focuses on achieving more than a billion users, leaving behind the Apple iOS, as of the last year report, iOS users are in billion numbers.
