Samsung Galaxy A3 Review, Features, Specifications

Samsung Galaxy has been a pioneer when it comes to Android phones; it is the one that has introduced the world to the smartphones. So definitely, it is a difficult task for Samsung to live up to the standard which it has set itself. To live up to the expectations of its customers, Samsung officially launched its new “A” series of smartphones with the big bang start of this year, 2016 and this new smart phone got available via all the retail channels then-after. The whooping start was the inauguration of the most awaited mid-range smartphone of the year Samsung Galaxy A3. This phone has got a lot in its store that’s probably enough for its portable size and reasonable price. The main difference between the E-series and the A-series is that the A-series has come with a damn good metal finish while the E-series are of polycarbonate. This newly launched product of Samsung is quite handy as it has a screen size of 4.5 inches. This phone has a straight edge rather than the curved one like that of the E-Series. According to the reviews and the popularity of Samsung Galaxy A3 among the people, it seems that the Samsung’s experiment with the metallic touch has finally succeeded.

Samsung Galaxy A3 Detailed Review

Design and Look: This phone has got winning fans for quite a while now, and it might probably be because of its elegant design features. Samsung, the global smartphone leader, has brought about a drastic change in the design of its smartphone. The effective result is certainly visible in Samsung Galaxy A3 with its metallic frames and edges but to scale down its price to an affordable amount of Rs.20,500, Samsung has removed the fingerprint sensor inSamsung Galaxy A3. Along with the fingerprint sensor even the heart rate monitor has also gone. But overall, Samsung A3 has undoubted good looks.

Samsung Galaxy A3 Touch and Display: To attract the customer’s attention Samsung has provided some impeccable display features in this phone. The multi-touch facility provided by this phone seems to work pretty well. It has got a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen bound in a screen size of 4.5inches. It has got a resolution of 720×1280 pixels with 312 ppi pixel density and has a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Its resolution at this price does not seem to be justified as there are other companies too which are providing better screen resolution at this range. It has got a bright display and good viewing angles.

Software: The Operating System that this phone relies on is Android Lollipop v5.1.1 and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and also supported by Exynos 7578 in the new version. The CPU is Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53. The inbuilt-memory is of 16GB but the RAM size will certainly set you back as it only provides 1.5GB.The memory is expandable up to 128GB by using a micro-SD card. It has got internet connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a Bluetooth connectivity of v4.1. It has also got GPS and NFC. It doesn’t have some of the latest sensors supported in A5 or A7 but has Proximity sensor, compass and accelerometer.

Camera: The rear camera of this smartphone is of 8-megapixel and the front camera is equal to that of Galaxy A5 or A7, which is 5-megapixel. The 5 megapixel strengthened secondary camera helps to capture some wonderful selfies in different modes. There is a wide amount of digital sharpening but the exposure cannot be termed as good as some of the parts of the image turns out to be over warmed when clicked in bright light. There is little bit of saturation in the images captured by the rear camera. At this price Samsung could have provided a better primary camera sensor. Here Samsung seems to upset its customers while its competitors like Xiomi Redmi or Lenovo provides incredible camera sensors at its price.

Battery Life: Samsung provides a non-removable Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2300mAh. It has a talk time of 14 hours under 3G network coverage, and a music play of up to 58 hours. Here also the company could have provided a better capacity. The battery capacity doesn’t seem to be so satisfying though usual work like messaging, internet browsing, gaming, little bit of music, all these are supported by its battery for quite a good amount of time.

Variants: This smartphone is available in 4 colors- White, Black, Pink and Gold. Pink seems to be very eye-catching and even gold is pretty elusive. White and Black give a concrete boost to your personality. Different colors are available in different prices but the price variation is not so distinct.

Price: In actual the price of Samsung Galaxy A3 is Rs. 20,500 but many of the online stores are providing good offers in it. So if you purchase it wisely comparing the different prices then you could probably grab it at a price of around Rs.15,000.

Phone accessories in box: The goods that might arrive with your new phone would be a two pin charger, a micro USB cable, a SIM ejector tool, an in-ear earphone and ear buds and a Quick Start Guide with warranty information.

Some honest suggestions

Well! Now it is time for a bit of some good suggestions which might be helpful for you if are thinking of buying this phone. According to the user reviews we found that the design and the camera of this phone is good but the battery life and the performance speed turns out to be quite poor at this range. When it comes to a smartphone above Rs.15000 we really wish it to have some latest features and a terrific processor speed. And this is where Samsung Galaxy A3 sets us back even along with the software it provides.

The Software that this smartphone is offering us at this price is not so up to the mark. The display can be termed as good but if we go for other brands at this range, then we can find better phones with better specifications. At the same range Xiomi Redmi or Lenovo is offering better phones with better features. Yes, Samsung definitely has a brand name and it stands out well in case of A5 and A7, but it doesn’t impress us much with Galaxy A3.  [rwp-review id=”0″]
