Lenovo A7000 upgraded to Android v6.0 Marshmallow

A Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo Group Ltd. which sells its products in around 160 countries has caused a stir in the market. The Android version update from Lollipop to Marshmallow in one of its product which was launched in March 2015, Lenovo A7000 has gained a widespread popularity. The 5.5-inch mobile phone was priced at Rs. 8999 for Indian Customers.

The update of Android version to Marshmallow is expected to solve a problem of touch resolution as many possessors of the phone have complained about the touch features. With that, it expects a lot more changes in the features of a mobile phone. The update is estimated to provide many features like Google now on Tap, which will bring contextual search users way, doze mode which will help in enhancing the battery life of handset, fingerprint API for developers, Android Pay mobile payment system and much more. Although, many of the things are not yet known that what changes will be provided to consumers after the phone is updated to the Android latest Version, Marshmallow. Other than this customer hopes for more changes to be updated on their phone. Earlier K3 note supported Theatre Max and is expected that A7000’s update will also add this feature to its mobile phone. The Theatre Max allows a person with Lenovo’s Ant VR headset to use the phone in a tandem way.

The Lenovo A7000, which is sold as ‘entertainment on a budget’, is a 5.5 inch IPS HD display, 720 X 1280 pixels phone. As for people who were unaware of this product which was launched a year before can look up to its feature and can make up a mind to buy it as it will be supporting Android Marshmallow too.

Display:  A multi-touch phone up to five fingers. And the pixels per inch (PPI) is 267.

Storage: The RAM consists of 2GB, and the internal storage is 8GB. The memory is expandable and can be expanded up to 32GB.

Camera: The primary (rear) camera of the phone is 8 MP, and the secondary (front) is of 5 MP. The camera features Geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. And video highlights 1080@30fps.

Connectivity: The phone connectivity aspects include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v 4.00, USB OTG and FM. It is a dual SIM phone, and only SIM 1 supports 3G, AND 4G network other one does not do it so.

Battery:  The phone contains a removable battery of 2900 mAh.

Color: This phone come in three colors i.e. Onyx Black, Pearl White, and Yellow.

Along with this, operating system as you all know is Android v 6.0 Marshmallow. But for that, you have to update your software which in an over-the-air (OTA) one from its previous version i.e. Lollipop one. Before updating software following things you have to be kept in mind:

  1. It is advisable to use Wi-Fi connection because the update is nearly about 1.3 GB in size.
  2. Make sure your battery is 50% charged.
  3. You should have a backup plan and space should be free up to 2GB.
  4. The update process is too long, and it will restart several times during the process.
  5. The chances of the displayed black screen are also there, but upgrade process will still continue.
