According to a survey, Samsung drawn-out its lead over Apple in the worldwide smartphone market in the second quarter profiting from its sale of its updated chief handsets. Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge – A lead for Samsung over Apple.

IDC, research firms confirmed that the South Korean company shipped over 77 million phones in this quarter, which is 5.5 percent more than the previous year and its current market share is 22.4 percent. Evaluated with the 15% dropped faced by Apple’s sale resulting in its market share of 11.8 percent.

IDC reported that the primary reason behind Samsung’s lift is its launch of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones along with an updated processor, waterproofing, and other attractive features.

Despite the launch of an affordable iPhone SE, Apple failed to maintain the pace and faced a sales drop from a year ago.

Strategy Analytics, another survey showed similar ballpark figure, where Samsung is at 22.8 percent and Apple is at 11.9 percent.

The executive director of Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston stated that he sees further gains for Samsung this year. He further adds that with the company rumored to launch Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which is most likely to make its leadership in the smartphone market even stronger. Whereas the Apple continues to face sales drop and with its latest iPhone SE handsets it doesn’t look like it has attracted that many sales.

According to Ryan at IDC’s dispersion of the markets have forced the producer to reorganize their strategy.  Now Apple is starting to focus on “device as a service” to protect its stretching substitute series.

Also, the China markets continue to decelerate which results in increasing competition in other growing markets like Indonesia, Middle East, and India.

Survey presented that China’s Huawei is the number third vendor with the market share of 9.4 percent. Oppo is in fourth with 6.6 percent market share, and Vivo is in fifth with 4.8 percent market share.
