AMD launches Radeon RX 480 VR

Advanced Micro Devices has launched its first graphic card which is based on the new Polaris XT GPU architecture. Instead of building high-end video cards, AMD launches Radeon RX 480 VR which is targeting the mid-range market with the Radeon RX 480. It is also trying to make the virtual reality games more affordable for today’s generation. AMD will release three graphics cards and chips today. The new Polaris Architecture allows the device to be more power efficient as the cards used in this device will be smaller than the ones used in other devices of AMD.

Price-
The VR cards will be available in 4GB and 8GB variant. The 4GB variant is priced at Rs 22,990 after the reduction of Rs 2,000 from the previously stated price which was Rs 24,900. The 8GB variant is priced at Rs 26,990 after the reduction of Rs 2,000 from the previously stated price which was Rs 28,990.

Processor-
The Radeon RX 480 is AMD’s newest graphic processing unit, and it will soon take on Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080. This device can run games at a 1440 pixels resolution. AMD also stated that it could run such games at 60 frames per second at 1080 HD resolutions.
The performance will be equivalent to the performance of the games currently running on PlayStation 4 or Xbox one which could theoretically run on these chips on the PC if someone ports them. The PC’s which will use these chips would have low power and compact form factor.

Raja Koduri, the Senior Vice President and Chief Architect of Radeon technologies group and have a message for the gamers that this Radeon RX 480 is every bit for them as they are for the company. This technology is specially designed while keeping in mind about the gamers who have bought and played on our graphics technology for years. The company has worked tirelessly to produce something which will satisfy the most discerning gamers and delivers the ideal product at an affordable price. The company is very grateful for the appreciation they have received from their games.
AMD is also expected to launch the rest of the Polaris lineup next month which is bound to have a significant impact on the mid-range market.
